Splitting and tagging regions in samples.Įven though Acoustica does include effects such as reverb or chorus, as well as multitrack session support which essentially makes it a mini-DAW, the program is really focused on making the tasks of audio cleanup and tagging more efficient and streamlined.Cleaning up recordings of vocals and instruments. The tasks for which I use an audio editor these days are basically just the following three: Over the years, though, a lot of the tasks which I formerly did in audio editors, such as applying reverb to individual instruments, have migrated over to DAWs. I’ve been using audio editors since back when Cool Edit was a shareware program, so I’ve done a lot of different things in those. In this review, we’re taking a closer look at Acoustica 7 by Acon Digital and giving away one copy of this excellent audio editor to one lucky reader (scroll all the way down the page to enter the giveaway). It should not be confused with the Mixcraft 7 DAW released by a company named Acoustica, which was previously reviewed here on BPB a few years ago. Ronald L Jack Baptist of Everythingmanband.Acon Digital Acoustica 7 is an audio editor which comes in Standard ($59.90) and Premium ($199.90) editions and is available for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows and Mac OS systems. I have recommended this to many, and as soon as we beta test seven I must test drive it. I loved the idea of Mix six with that great line of mics. I will say even though this may be off topic run a super Pro studio with seven giving the enthusiast that collects a pro mic. Now it has become simple Version seven I am sure will implement tons of features I am wondering as constant betas for six are running and each time there are improvements. I did better in learning on digital Audio Workstations starting with Mixcraft version 3 than any daw that was available. I am seeing this great software rise up and do very well I love to promote it. Great Idea I remember the want to push this when emailing the team here at Acoustica. I like the idea of being able to touch the screen just as I would a physical knob mixers and such. Tab PCs that are huge in Memory well in the future alot of us are going to want are physical equipment but nonetheless the push I see coming is big screen home studio touch PCs for now more portable. Especially the I-Pad which now seems to be going down in cost with other Pads such as the Galaxy and its new operating system which they just released. As an App I think this will run well with those who use apple IPads phones ETC. Also Avid I have worked with to be honest the system backing Mixcraft six I do not see too many differences I like Mixcraft six better actually when I am teaching my artist production. Also for the fact that Mixcraft can compete with many very well that are more costly I think that this was a necessary move. Those that do not will lose out in competition. It will be good for all DAWS to implement this. I mentioned this near end of March and as we see more tablets being implemented tablet PCs etc. I use it as professional mixer and vocalist. Mixcraft is gaining ground and has been for sometime. Really good to implement this, point blank. Full instructions including screenshots are available within the Mixcraft Remote App. Note that Mixcraft and your phone or tablet need to be connected to the same network.
